New stuff all around

leave a comment »

You might have noticed that I haven’t blogged in a while, here or on the Clubhouse. That’s because we at Nysics have been working on some really cool stuff coming down the road. This includes:

  • A new site design
On February 13th, we will launch the next version of our website. It’s going to be easier to use, will have more features and media, and some new “services”. You can try it out now here: http://nysics.co.cc/beta/nysics2/index.html
Note that this is NOT the final build, and that not everything in the beta works.
  • Nysics Chat 3.0
We will also be releasing the next version of Nysics Chat on the 13th. This version will no longer need software updates: whenever we make a new version, it’s automatically updated. You don’t even need to check for updates. Once we release this version(3.0), the older versions(1.5 and lower) will stop working. So please upgrade!
  • Meister Who
Meister Who is an all-new TV/Web series based on Doctor Who that we’re working on with In A World Productions. The first episode should be out by the end of this year.
  • More to come
Right now, there is just some stuff I can’t talk about. But when I can, I will defiantly tell all of you. But let’s just say some of it will be ground breaking.

Until next time, have a great week!

Changes to Nysics Social(update w/date)

leave a comment »

Hey everybody! Sorry that I haven’t posted in a while. We at Nysics have been busy with some cool stuff that will come out in 2010.

But I’m not talking about that today. I’m here to announce something very exciting about Nysics Social. We’re going public on January 1st, 2010! That means anybody can sign up for Nysics Social, not just those select few.

But there’s a little problem with that. Going public means that anybody can view your profile. Unless if you don’t care about just ANYBODY viewing your profile, we have a solution for you. Two, actually. You can delete your Nysics Social account, or make it private. Here’s how:

So you want to delete your Nysics Social account. That’s fine, we understand. Here’s how you do it:

Step 1: Log in – Go to the Nysics Social homepage and click the Sign In button on the right. Enter your email address and password, then click “Sign In”.
image image

Step 2: Go to your account – On the right side of the page, click the “settings” button. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, then click “Leave Nysics Social”.
image image

Step 3: Delete Your Account – Make sure the “Delete my content” box is checked, then click the “Leave” button.
image

Step 1: Log in – Go to the Nysics Social homepage and click the “Sign In” button on the right. Enter your email address and password, then click “Sign In”.
image image

Step 2: Go to your account – On the right of the page, click the “settings” button. On the next page, click the “Privacy” tab on the left.
image image

Step 3: Make everything private – You should be on the Privacy page. To make your profile private, select “Just My Friends” for all of the options in the “Visibility” section. (Tip: You can also change other privacy settings here.)
image

Now your profile is private, and you can enjoy Nysics Social the safe way!

Have fun, and Merry Christmas!

A peek at what is to come…

leave a comment »

Hey everybody out there! Sorry it’s been a long time since we’ve posted! We have been working on a lot of cool things that we’re sure you will love. Here is a peek at some of them:

Websites
We have been working on a couple websites that you might enjoy. One is more completed than the other, and here are the reasons why:

  • Nysics News
This website will be the portal to all of our news content, such as blogs, our Twitter feed, and coming soon, our new news show: ABCNN.
The reason why this site has not launched:

ABCNN has been put behind schedule, due to the Host and the Co-Host not being able to come on the set at the same time. They were either one place or another.
  • Nysics Player
Nysics Player is the portal to all of the videos Nysics has produced, and then some. Nysics Player introduces a new design and a different code set, making this website quite unique.
The reason why this site has not launched:
Lets just blame it on ABCNN. Nysics Player features ABCNN on the front page, and since ABCNN has not yet released, it would be a little odd to feature something that is not out yet.

Blog Posts
We have two blog posts in the making for the Nysics Clubhouse. Both dealing with Windows Live. But that’s all we can say!

All of these things(and maybe more…) will be launched next month, hopefully sooner. Hope to see you then!

Happy Birthday, Nysics Social!

leave a comment »

Today is Nysics Social’s first birthday!

Wow, it’s already been a year!

For those of you who don’t know what Nysics Social is, I’ll give you a little history.

We found this really cool platform called Ning on the 24th of September 2008, and decided to build a site(or a social network) on it. Now, at the time, we thought that we would just use it to host our media(Pictures, Videos, etc…), but little did we know that we would build a social network where people communicated and had fun with each other. When people started signing up, we re-designed the site to read “Nysics Social” instead of “Nysics Media”, and added a few more features. We also built some other sites(like “Nysics Community – a place where writers could build on each others ideas, and “Nysics Awards” – where we gave out awards to people who participated in games), but nobody really signed up or participated in them, so we took those sites down and quickly forgot about them(at least we TRIED). But Nysics Social survived, and is still being used by our 18 users(We did have a few spam requests). Over time, we moved all of our websites over to Ning, and updated the UIs(User Interface) to match each other.

Now, we hope to have more people sign up in the next coming years, so be sure to tell your friends about Nysics Social.
Well, that’s all for today. I’ve got to go eat some cake and ice cream. Happy Birthday Nysics Social, hope to still have you next year!

More new rules

leave a comment »

Our rules for Nysics Social have been updated for the second time because of a user who was having a hard time with her friend. Here are the rules (the bolded text is the new rule):

The Rules:
1-Content: PLEASE only post children friendly stuff anywhere on the website. If you do not, it will be removed.
2-Language: A:DO NOT use any bad language of ANY KIND! This includes taking God’s name in vain!
B:Do not use hate speech. You know, talking bad stuff about other people, etc…
3-Profile Pictures: Please do NOT post immodest, or un-appropriate profile pics. I will have to ban you if you post them. Also, please use profile pictures of YOU(not of anybody else). You CAN post pictures of flowers, dogs, tucans, etc…
If you do NOT follow the rules, you will get a warning from the admin(me). After two warnings, you WILL BE BANNED FROM THE WEBSITE! I am NOT joking! This website is supposed to be family friendly, and i intend to keep it that way!

Please obey the rules. It helps everybody to have a better time on Nysics services.

New site updates

leave a comment »

Notice the new site changes? We’ve made a couple cool changes. First, and the most notable, is that you don’t see the annoying top grey-bar thing anymore.
image

Another nice update is the Blogs page. It has a cleaner design, and now houses all of our blogs. All of them.
image

Another update: The homepage. It is now the portal for all of your Nysics needs. It houses our Twitter feed, our top two blogs, and more. And we’re going to add even more stuff.
image

Another great new feature is the feedback tab. You can’t miss it. It’s on all of our sites.
image

Oh, and last but not least, the Downloads page now has Nysics OS on the list.
image

Hope you enjoy these updates, and as always, leave feedback! We love feedback!

New Version of Nysics Chat!

leave a comment »

Nysics Chat has been upgraded… again, and is now available on the web from anywhere in the world, too!
Nysics Chat now has a new background, and is simpler to use. It also can be updated without the need to download anything else! That means now I can add new features without having to write another blog post on how to download it.
Another feature is that you can now run the Nysics Chat software right from the web! To do it, just head on over to nysicschat.co.cc which will let start chatting with your friends(you may have to go there twice: first time to log in, the second to chat).
